This presentation will explore the notion of teacher empowerment through distributive leadership as an effective approach in training teachers for effective use of technology. The presentation will begin by identifying the nature of challenges faced in training teachers for effective integration of ICT in teaching and learning. In the second stage of the presentation, notions of teacher empowerment and strategies of distributive leadership will be explored in order to identify effective strategies that can support ICT Coordinators and others in leadership positions towards facilitating and imparting training in the effective use of technology in the classroom.
